beverage and mingle with others in time to enjoy the desert at sunrise. We provide themed topics (including walking maps)
each day of week highlighting a different aspect of Carefree. From the deserts flora & fauna to areas heritage and
geology.

Special stargazing events are scheduled throughout the year with local
Carefree astronomer, Tony Laconte. His daytime and evening stargazing
and astronomy programs are fun, exciting and memorable. Bring your
digital camera and take pictures of the night sky through the lens
of one of the largest telescopes you've ever seen! This is great
reception event and also great for families and reunions.

side trip through Sedonas Red Rock country. There are many opportunities here for adventurous and hardy persons who
want to backpack, ride a mule to Phantom Ranch, or take a river trip through the Canyon on the Colorado River.

Our full day tour covers 22 miles of dirt roads and scenic backcountry; this tour will allow you to explore the historic
Indian path and supply route for the Salt River dams. Pass along desert lakes, winding canyons, Goldfield Mining town and
the 800 year old ruins of Tonto National Monument. Our guide will share the Indian secrets and folklore of this land with
you.

Nestled amid the red buttes of Papago Park, the Desert Botanical Garden hosts the worlds finest collections of desert plants.
One of only 44 botanical gardens accredited by the American Association of Museums, this one of a kind museum showcases 50
acres of beautiful outdoor exhibits. Home to 139 rare, threatened and endangered plan species from around the world, the
Garden offers interesting and inspiring experiences to more than 300,000 visitors each year.
